Matka First Review

The film’s music by GV Prakash Kumar has received a moderate response, setting the mood for this period drama. Some prominent Tollywood figures watched the film early and shared their insights. According to them, Matka is set in Visakhapatnam between 1958 and 1982. Varun Tej plays Vasu, a laborer from Waltair who ends up in jail due to an unfortunate incident, which hardens him. After his release, he becomes focused solely on earning money, and a visit to a club sets him on a transformative journey.

The story then unfolds with his love and marriage to Sujata (played by Meenakshi Chaudhary) and the complications brought by Sophia (played by Nora Fatehi). The film showcases Varun Tej in four distinct looks, which is said to be his best performance to date, with a unique style of dialogue delivery. Meenakshi Chaudhary impresses with both her charm and acting. Karuna Kumar’s screenplay and dialogues are reported to be deeply emotional and inspirational. Now, all eyes are on the morning shows to see how the audience reacts to Matka.
