Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone’s romantic comedy-drama Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani continues to captivate audiences, cementing its status as a cult classic. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film was a massive blockbuster upon its initial release, earning nearly ₹190 crores nett. Now, 11 years later, the movie has made a grand comeback to theaters with an impressive re-release.
On its first day back on the big screens, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani opened to packed houses across the country, selling approximately 75,000 tickets on Book My Show alone. Early estimates suggest the re-release collected around ₹1.25 crores nett on its opening day, making it one of the highest openings for a Hindi film re-release.
With strong advance bookings, the film is projected to earn ₹6 crores nett over the weekend. Produced by Karan Johar under the Dharma Productions banner, the movie also features stellar performances by Aditya Roy Kapoor, Kalki Koechlin, and Kunaal Roy Kapoor. Adding to its timeless charm are the unforgettable tunes composed by Pritam.
