Actor Sonu Sood recently opened up about the hurdles he faced during his directorial debut, Fateh. The film, inspired by real-life cybercrime incidents during the Covid-19 pandemic, has received widespread attention for its compelling narrative and action-packed sequences. In an interview with ANI, Sonu shared his thoughts on the experience of directing and hinted at future projects, saying, “I truly enjoyed directing Fateh. It’s about the experience and satisfaction, so get ready for the second soon.”
Fateh is lauded for its high-octane action scenes, choreographed by renowned stunt director Lee Whittaker, known for his work on Captain Marvel and Fast & Furious 5. The film’s soundtrack, featuring Hans Zimmer’s song “To the Moon,” adds an intense layer to the storyline.
Sonu detailed the challenges of assembling a world-class team, stating, “Working with top talent from Hollywood, including action directors from Fast and Furious and securing Hans Zimmer’s music, was a significant challenge, but worth it.”
Focusing on scams and cybercrime, Sonu emphasized the film’s educational message about the dangers of deepfakes, instant loan scams, and their impact on ordinary people. He stressed the importance of raising awareness, particularly among vulnerable groups, saying, “It’s crucial to educate the public, especially the elderly and common man, about these scams.”
Expressing gratitude for the film’s positive reception, Sonu noted, “The audience’s love and repeated visits to theaters are immensely satisfying. As a first-time director, this success is overwhelming, and I’m excited for the future.”
Fateh, which premiered on January 10, has already grossed ₹21.18 crore in its first week. Sonu, alongside BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, attended a special screening and interacted with fans, including specially-abled attendees, further promoting the film’s message.
