The 2018 Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha starrer 96 remains a cult classic in Tamil cinema, and fans can now look forward to a sequel. Director Prem Kumar has revealed that he has completed the script for 96 Part 2. Initially hesitant to work on a sequel, Prem eventually found inspiration and developed the storyline. He recently shared the script with Vijay Sethupathi’s wife, who expressed her approval.
The fate of the sequel now hinges on the availability of Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha, as their schedules are key to moving forward. Prem Kumar plans to meet with Sethupathi soon to discuss the project. 96 was produced by Madras Enterprises, with Govind Vasantha composing the music. The film was also remade in Telugu as Jaanu, starring Sharwanand and Samantha, with Prem Kumar directing the remake.
