Indian badminton star PV Sindhu is all set to begin a new chapter in her life as she ties the knot with Hyderabad-based Venkata Datta Sai on December 22 in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The wedding festivities are scheduled to commence on December 20. Venkata Datta Sai, the executive director at Posidex Technologies in Hyderabad, will be the groom.
Sindhu’s father, NV Ramana, a former volleyball player, confirmed the news, revealing that while the families have known each other for a long time, the final arrangements were made just a month ago. “This was the only possible window given her hectic schedule starting January. Hence, both families decided on December 22 for the wedding, with a reception planned in Hyderabad on December 24,” he shared, adding that Sindhu would resume training shortly after the celebrations due to the upcoming competitive season.
The 29-year-old ace shuttler recently secured victory at the Syed Modi International tournament in Lucknow, further cementing her position as an inspiration to countless young athletes. Sindhu’s illustrious career boasts two Olympic medals (silver at Rio 2016 and bronze at Tokyo 2020), two Asian Games medals, and five World Championship medals. A former world number 2, she was honored with the Padma Bhushan in 2020 for her contributions to Indian sports.
