Allu Arjun and Sukumar’s iconic romantic drama, Arya, turns 20 years old today. Fans are celebrating the milestone with trending hashtags, and producer Dil Raju is organizing a special event to mark the occasion.
Earlier today, Allu Arjun reflected on the impact of Arya on his career, tweeting, “20 years of Arya. It’s not just a movie … it’s a moment in time that changed the course of my life. Gratitude forever (sic).”
Made on a modest budget of Rs 4 crore, Arya grossed over Rs 30 crore worldwide, solidifying Allu Arjun and Sukumar as one of Telugu Cinema’s most successful actor-director duos. Anu Mehta and Siva Balaji were also key players in the film, with a memorable soundtrack composed by DSP. The film’s success eventually led to a sequel, Arya 2, which hit theaters in 2009 and achieved moderate success.
