Naga Chaitanya’s much-awaited action drama Thandel, directed by Chandoo Mondeti, is close to completion, with only ten days of filming left. This high-budget project, co-starring Sai Pallavi, intertwines themes of love and patriotism and is set to be Chaitanya’s costliest venture to date. Though ready for a January 2025 release, the exact date remains undecided.
Producer Allu Arvind of Geetha Arts will make the final call on whether Thandel will join the Sankranti lineup, where it could face stiff competition from major releases like Ram Charan’s Game Changer and NBK109. Venkatesh’s collaboration with Anil Ravipudi, also aiming for Sankranti, may shift, potentially offering Thandel a prime release slot.
While Chandoo Mondeti acknowledged concerns over high-profile competition, he’s hopeful Allu Arvind will choose an optimal date. At the KA pre-release event, Chaitanya voiced his confidence, noting, “Geetha Arts ensures top-tier release strategies and content, instilling confidence in any actor.” Fans can expect an official release date announcement soon as anticipation builds for Thandel’s theatrical debut.
