Devara has finally arrived in theaters worldwide, and Koratala Siva has successfully delivered on his promise. Set in the village of Erra Samudram, the film revolves around the descendants of villagers who once protected the sea by fighting illegal activities. However, in Devara’s time, they find themselves caught up in these very crimes.
As Devara realizes his mistake, he tries to inspire change, sparking intense conflicts. The first half focuses entirely on this unfolding drama. Koratala Siva expertly builds this world and writes each scene with precision, ensuring there’s not a single dull moment. Jr NTR shines with a stellar performance, dominating every scene, while Saif Ali Khan as Bhaira fits his role perfectly. The rest of the cast also delivers strong performances.
The only letdown is that the much-anticipated songs, “Fear Song” and “Aayudha Pooja,” could have been shot more impressively. However, the interval action sequence is a treat for fans, delivering a thrilling mass spectacle.
What’s refreshing is that the first half focuses solely on Devara’s journey, with no side tracks like romance or comedy, maintaining a fast-paced, action-packed narrative. Koratala Siva ensures Devara’s character development and the world-building are gripping throughout.
