Kollywood star Dhanush recently faced a box office setback with his directorial venture Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam (NEEK). Despite generating buzz through its promotions, particularly with the hit song Golden Sparrow, the film failed to make a strong impact in theaters. However, it is now gearing up for its OTT debut.
NEEK is set to premiere on Prime Video on March 21st, and there are high expectations that it will reach a wider audience through streaming. The film struggled commercially due to an unfavorable release date, clashing with Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dragon, which dominated the box office. However, in terms of content and direction, NEEK still managed to win appreciation from a section of the audience.
Starring a fresh cast of newcomers, the film was made on a limited budget of ₹12 crores. While it didn’t perform as expected in theaters, its reception on OTT could give it a second life among movie lovers.
