Mumbai, Feb 20 (IANS) – Recent speculation suggested that Netflix had removed Urvashi Rautela’s scenes from “Daaku Maharaaj” ahead of its digital release. However, a reliable source has now debunked these rumors, confirming that the film will stream exactly as it was shown in theaters.
According to the insider, Netflix has adhered to the producers’ vision, ensuring no alterations were made to the original theatrical cut. This clarification comes after online chatter claimed the streaming giant had completely edited out Urvashi’s portions from the film before its OTT debut.
Adding to the controversy, when Netflix unveiled the official streaming poster for the Telugu-language action drama, actors like Bobby Deol, Pragya Jaiswal, and Shraddha Srinath were prominently featured—while Urvashi Rautela, despite playing a significant role and actively promoting the film, was missing.
This unexpected omission didn’t go unnoticed, as fans took to social media to question why she was excluded. Following the backlash, Netflix later released individual character slides, including two images of Urvashi, seemingly addressing the oversight.
Directed by Bobby Kolli, “Daaku Maharaaj” features an ensemble cast including Nandamuri Balakrishna, Rishi, Chandini Chowdary, Pradeep Rawat, Sachin Khedekar, Shine Tom Chacko, Viswant Duddumpudi, Aadukalam Naren, and Ravi Kishan.
The film, which hit theaters on January 12, 2025, during Sankranti, stars Nandamuri Balakrishna in the role of a fearless officer. Despite the initial poster controversy, the film will be available on Netflix from February 21, in its complete, unaltered version.
