Insiders from Kollywood reveal that AR Murugadoss originally considered naming the film Hunter. However, due to Rajinikanth’s collaboration with director T.J. Gnanavel being titled Vettaiyan—which translates to ‘hunter’ in Tamil—the makers decided to opt for a different name. Eventually, Madharasi was chosen as the title, aligning with the film’s central theme, which explores the perception of South Indians from a North Indian viewpoint.
In a recent interview, AR Murugadoss hinted that Sivakarthikeyan’s role in Madharasi will be something never seen before. Just as Ghajini introduced a gripping memory loss concept and Thuppakki revolved around sleeper cells, this film will incorporate a unique element that sets it apart.
