In recent times, the film “Premalu” has captivated audiences with its remarkable performance at the box office. This romantic comedy has amassed over 120 crores in gross revenue, including earnings from both its Telugu and Tamil versions, despite being made on a budget of less than 10 crores. Naslen K Gafoor and Mamitha Baiju portrayed the lead characters in this film.
Initially, there were reports suggesting that the movie would premiere on OTT platforms on March 29th, but this did not materialize. Recent rumors suggest that the digital release was intentionally delayed due to the continued success of the Telugu and Tamil versions in theaters. Speculation indicates that the digital release is now scheduled for April 12th.
Awaiting an official announcement, it’s noteworthy that Disney Plus Hotstar owns the digital rights to this blockbuster, directed by Girish A.D. The versatile actor Fahadh Faasil co-produced “Premalu” alongside Dileesh Pothan and Syam Pushkaran under the banner of Bhavana Studio.
The film features pivotal roles played by Shyam Mohan M, Meenakshi Raveendran, Akhila Bhargavan, Althaf Salim, Mathew Thomas, and Sangeet Pratap. Vishnu Vijay composed the musical score. “Premalu” made history by becoming the highest-grossing Telugu-dubbed Malayalam film of all time, surpassing 15 crores in gross earnings.
