‘Macho Star’ Gopichand has encountered a string of setbacks in recent years, grappling with consecutive failures. Taking a hiatus from the spotlight, the actor returned with the commercial potboiler, Bhimaa (2024), directed by A. Harsha, blending cop action drama with a touch of fantasy.
Despite a promising start, Bhimaa found its stride during the weekdays, surpassing expectations in certain regions and even outperforming Vishwak Sen’s Gaami (2024) during its second weekend. However, the film ultimately settled as an ‘average’ performer at the box office. While not a resounding hit, it also avoids the label of outright failure.
Nevertheless, Bhimaa merits a second chance, particularly on the small screen. As officially announced, the film is slated to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on April 25, 2024. Featuring a musical score by Ravi Basur, Bhimaa stars Priya Bhavani Shankar and Malavika Sharma in prominent roles, promising an engaging cinematic experience for audiences.
