Kalki 2898 AD Actress Shobana Cast as Kaikesi in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana

The much-anticipated Bollywood adaptation of the epic Ramayana, helmed by director Nitesh Tiwari, is currently in production and promises to be an unforgettable cinematic experience. This two-part epic features Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi in the legendary roles of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita, respectively.

Recently, exciting news has surfaced that the legendary Padma Bhushan awardee, Shobana, has been cast to play the formidable Kaikesi, the mother of the demon king Raavana. Known for her commanding presence on screen, Shobana’s look has been meticulously crafted to evoke strength and intimidation. After extensive discussions, the filmmakers were thoroughly impressed with her transformation, officially confirming her role.

Shobana, who earned critical acclaim for her portrayal of Mariam in Kalki 2898 AD, is set to add another feather to her cap with her portrayal of Kaikesi. Fans are eagerly anticipating her powerful performance as she breathes new life into this pivotal character. Furthermore, Shobana will also portray the mother of Yash, who will take on the role of Raavana in the film.

Produced by Namit Malhotra, with Yash as the co-producer, this grand cinematic vision is being crafted with an eye on a global audience. The first part of Ramayana is set to release during Diwali 2026, and fans eagerly await more updates on this monumental project.
