The buzz around Kalki 2898 AD‘s sequel continues to grow, but fans will have to wait longer than expected. The much-anticipated follow-up to Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi epic isn’t happening anytime soon due to Prabhas’ packed schedule.
The Baahubali star has multiple projects lined up before he can return as Karna. Currently, he is focused on completing The Raja Saab, followed by an untitled project with Hanu Raghavapudi. After these, he will join hands with Sandeep Reddy Vanga for Spirit. If Spirit begins filming between June and July this year, it will take at least a year to wrap up. Meanwhile, Salaar 2 is also in the pipeline, making it impossible for Kalki 2898 AD Part 2 to commence anytime soon.
Interestingly, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is eagerly waiting for his turn to direct Prabhas. However, with the star’s commitments stacked up, he will have to wait until The Raja Saab and Hanu Raghavapudi’s film are completed before Spirit begins.
On the other hand, Kalki 2898 AD director Nag Ashwin is also considering taking up another film before diving into the sequel. Given the massive success of the first installment, which grossed over ₹1000 crores worldwide and became a blockbuster across all languages, expectations for the sequel are sky-high. The first part ended on a thrilling note, unveiling Prabhas as Karna, setting the perfect stage for an epic continuation.
With the combination of Prabhas and Nag Ashwin bound to create massive hype, the sequel is sure to set new benchmarks in Indian cinema. But for now, fans will have to wait patiently as the team gears up for what promises to be another cinematic spectacle.
