Kanguva Business Soars: Suriya’s Film Closes at 350 Cr Pre-Release

Date:

A few years ago, Suriya was one of the biggest stars in Kollywood, enjoying a massive market across all languages. However, a series of flops and the absence of a major blockbuster led to a challenging phase in his career. Now, he’s set to reclaim his top spot with “Kanguva,” a high-budget pan-India film generating massive hype and performing exceptionally well in pre-release business.

In the Telugu states, where Suriya has a huge fan following, the film’s business is projected to be around 25 Cr. The Kerala rights have been sold for 10 Cr, with other territories also fetching substantial prices. The non-theatrical business has reached record levels, with Amazon Prime Video acquiring the South Indian digital rights for a solid 80 Cr.

The film is also generating positive buzz in the northern market, with the Hindi rights sold for a significant amount. Devi Sri Prasad has composed the music for this fantasy action film, and the audio and satellite rights have been sold for high prices. Overall, the total business for “Kanguva” is expected to reach around 350 Cr, including both theatrical and non-theatrical revenues.

Directed by Siva, “Kanguva” features Bobby Deol and Disha Patani making their Kollywood debuts, alongside Jagapathi Babu, Natarajan Subramaniam, and Yogi Babu in key roles. This big-budget fantasy project is backed by Studio Green and UV Creations.
