Karthik Subbaraj’s upcoming film, Suriya44, starring Suriya and Pooja Hegde, has created a buzz with the director’s recent remarks, leaving fans surprised. While many anticipated Suriya44 to be an action-packed film, Karthik Subbaraj clarified that it is more of a love story with action elements.
The director also shared an interesting perspective on how audiences, even young viewers, perceive films today. He recounted, “I went to watch The GOAT with my nephew, a huge fan of Vijay. He confidently predicted that The GOAT would surpass Jailer’s box office collections. I explained to him that collections shouldn’t be the focus and that content is what truly matters.”
Karthik further added, “It’s concerning to see even children getting fixated on box office numbers. This obsession is unhealthy for the film culture. I urge filmmakers to avoid this mindset and focus on creating meaningful content. If the story and emotions resonate with the audience, the collections will naturally follow.”
