Karthi’s Apology Over Laddu Comment Sparks Backlash Among Tamil People

Date:

Tamil actor Karthi recently attended a pre-release event for his upcoming film Sathyam Sundaram (also known as Meiyazhagan) in Hyderabad. During the event, Karthi made a lighthearted comment about laddu, which unexpectedly stirred controversy in Andhra Pradesh. Actor-politician Pawan Kalyan took offense to the remark and reacted strongly, prompting Karthi to issue an immediate apology on his official X (formerly Twitter) account.

However, Karthi’s apology has sparked backlash from Tamil netizens, who feel he needlessly apologized, especially since they saw no issue with his comment. They believe Karthi only apologized to appease Pawan Kalyan due to the latter’s star power. Tamil fans have since been trolling Pawan Kalyan, accusing him of promoting Hindutva politics similar to the BJP’s agenda. This situation has further escalated due to Pawan Kalyan’s earlier confrontation with actor Prakash Raj, who refused to apologize, leaving many disappointed that Karthi didn’t follow a similar stance.

The controversy has left fans and audiences disheartened, as Pawan Kalyan’s behavior as a religious politician has surprised many. Seeing him involved in such disputes and acting in a manner likened to a BJP spokesperson has been a source of disappointment for his supporters.
