Lokesh Kanagaraj, one of the most celebrated filmmakers in Tamil cinema today, is all set to make a surprising new move—this time, in front of the camera. Known for directing blockbuster hits like Kaithi, Master, Vikram, and Leo, Lokesh is now stepping into the spotlight as the lead actor in an upcoming film directed by Arun Matheswaran.
The project was officially launched today in Chennai, generating a fresh wave of excitement among fans and film circles. Shooting for the film is scheduled to begin on May 18, and it will be jointly produced by G Squad, Passion Studios, and The Route.
Despite his packed schedule as a director, Lokesh is embracing this bold new chapter. He is currently busy helming Coolie, the much-anticipated actioner starring Superstar Rajinikanth, which is slated for a global release on August 14.
That’s not all—Lokesh also has several major directorial projects in the pipeline, including Vikram 2, Kaithi 2, and two other yet-to-be-announced films. Amidst this hectic lineup, his decision to debut as an actor adds an exciting twist to his career.
