Director Lokesh Kanagaraj recently shared exciting updates regarding his upcoming projects, Coolie and the much-anticipated Kaithi 2. Coolie, which marks the first collaboration between Lokesh and the legendary Rajinikanth, is slated for a summer 2025 theatrical release.
In a recent interview, Lokesh revealed that after completing Coolie, he will shift focus to Kaithi 2, which is set to begin shooting in August 2025. He also disclosed his plans to conclude the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) with three major films: Suriya’s Rolex, followed by the much-awaited Vikram 2.
Although Lokesh had been considering a sequel to Leo, he expressed regret that he would not be able to take on Leo 2, due to Thalapathy Vijay’s political commitments. On another note, Lokesh hinted at a potential collaboration with Aamir Khan in the future, though he admitted that the details were still uncertain.
While remaining tight-lipped about the specifics, Lokesh teased that Aamir Khan might make a cameo appearance in Coolie, keeping fans intrigued about the film’s developments.
Coolie promises to be a thrilling action-packed crime drama, starring Nagarjuna Akkineni, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, and Soubin Shahir, set against a gripping narrative that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
