The Malayalam blockbuster “Manjummel Boys” continues to break records, recently achieving a significant milestone by joining the 50 crore club in Tamil Nadu. This marks the sixth non-Tamil film to accomplish this feat in the state, following big-budget projects like Baahubali, Baahubali 2, RRR, KGF 2, and Avatar 2.
What sets “Manjummel Boys” apart is its achievement without Tamil dubbing. Released solely in its Malayalam version in Tamil Nadu, the film’s success underscores its universal appeal and strong performance at the box office.
Prior to “Manjummel Boys,” no other Malayalam film had even grossed 5 Cr in Tamil Nadu, making this milestone particularly remarkable. Globally, the movie has amassed around 190 Cr in box office earnings, with Telugu and Hindi dubbed versions slated for release this month.
Directed by Chidambaram and based on a true story, the survival thriller follows a group of friends from Cochin on an adventure to Kodaikanal. The cast includes Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Ganapathi S. Poduval, and Lal Jr. Stay tuned for the Telugu version, set to be released by Mythri Movie Makers.
