Mohanlal’s L2: Empuraan, was one of the most anticipated movies of Mollywood. It is the awaited sequel to Lucifer (2019). The movie is directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran.
It is a political, action drama which has all the elements in it. The movie had now become a ray of hope for distributors and producers. While there are mixed reviews about the film, there is a large audience going to theaters, only for the movie.
The movie received both positive and negative reviews. critics opinion that the action thriller is high on style. But there is something missing. It is low on substance. A few bashed Prithviraj due to the controversial events shown in the film. However, since the hype is sky-high, Empuraan is off to a flying start at the box office.
According toreports, the movie raked in nearly Rs. 65 crores gross worldwide.
This is the biggest-ever opener for a Malayalam movie by a mammoth margin.
The movie is estimated to earn 300 crore within 1 week.
