Nithiin’s upcoming film, Robinhood, directed by Venky Kudumula and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, has been creating significant buzz in Tollywood. Originally slated for a Christmas release, the movie was postponed to avoid clashing with the production house’s other major release, Pushpa 2.
However, Pushpa 2 underperformed at the Christmas box office, failing to draw significant audiences during the festive weekend. Other releases, including Bachhala Malli, Viduthalai 2, and Barroz 3D, also struggled, leaving a void that Robinhood could have capitalized on. If the film had been released as scheduled, it would likely have benefited from a solo run and avoided impacting Pushpa 2’s prospects, given its weak performance.
Now, the makers face the challenge of identifying a new release date that aligns with a holiday season to maximize box office returns. The decision to postpone Robinhood appears to have been a missed opportunity, sparking discussions about the strategic misstep by Mythri Movie Makers.
