Salman Khan’s much-anticipated Eid release Sikandar ended up as a major box office disappointment. Right from the start, the film struggled to generate buzz, and the negative reviews only worsened its fate. Despite being positioned as a big-ticket action drama, Sikandar managed to earn just over ₹100 crore nett in India—falling short of even Salman’s previous underperformer Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Directed by AR Murugadoss, who returned to Hindi cinema after a long hiatus, the film failed to meet expectations.
Now, Sikandar is heading to OTT, with Netflix set to premiere the film on May 25. Following the standard eight-week theatrical window for Bollywood releases, the movie’s streaming release was quietly listed in the platform’s ‘Coming Soon’ section. Given its poor theatrical performance, it remains to be seen if the film can find a second life in the digital space.
The film stars National Crush Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead, with key roles played by Kajal Aggarwal and Sathyaraj. Backed by Sajid Nadiadwala under the Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner, Sikandar features music by Pritam and a gripping background score by Santosh Narayanan.
