Netflix Faces Backlash Over Poor Dubbing in ‘Modern Masters: SS Rajamouli’ Docu-Film

Date:

Netflix is set to release a docu-film titled “Modern Masters: SS Rajamouli” on August 2, 2024. Directed by Raghav Khanna, this 74-minute special featurette aims to showcase the brilliance of SS Rajamouli but has instead sparked outrage among Tollywood fans.

The controversy began when Netflix released the English trailer, prompting fans to question the availability of a Telugu version. When Netflix finally released the Telugu trailer, it featured poor-quality dubbing instead of using the original voices of the Telugu-speaking celebrities. Except for James Cameron, all the key personalities in the film – SS Rajamouli, Prabhas, Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Rama Rajamouli, and MM Keeravaani – speak Telugu natively. The subpar dubbing has infuriated fans, who are disheartened by hearing their favorite stars’ voices replaced by inferior dubs.

Angry Tollywood fans took to social media to criticize Netflix, demanding that the poorly dubbed version be scrapped. They called it an insult to the stars and the Telugu-speaking audience. Fans are questioning how the celebrities agreed to this and expressing their disgust at Netflix’s disrespectful move.

“Modern Masters: SS Rajamouli” is produced by Sameer Nair, Deepak Segal, and Anupama Chopra. As the backlash grows, Netflix’s decision is under intense scrutiny. Stay tuned for further updates on this escalating controversy.
