Nithin’s upcoming comedy-drama, Robinhood, directed by Venu Kudumula and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, was initially slated for a Christmas release. However, the film has now been rescheduled to hit theaters on January 13, 2025, as part of the Sankranthi festival season.
Reports suggest that there were differing opinions between Nithin and the film’s producers regarding the postponement, but ultimately, the decision was made to move the release to Sankranthi. This shift places Robinhood in direct competition with several major films already announced for the same period. Among the highly anticipated releases are Ram Charan’s Game Changer, Balakrishna’s Daaku Maharaaj, and Venkatesh’s Sankranthiki Vastunnam. It remains to be seen how Nithin’s film will fare against this fierce competition for screens.
The timing of Nithin’s film also sets up an interesting clash between Mythri Movie Makers and renowned producer Dil Raju, who is behind Game Changer and is also the distributor for both Sankranthiki Vastunnam and Daaku Maharaaj. This Sankranthi promises to be a hotly contested battleground at the box office.
