The recent special premiere of Pushpa 2 on December 4 at Sandhya 35MM in Telangana turned tragic, leading to the loss of a woman’s life and leaving her son in critical condition. The incident occurred due to a chaotic rush when Allu Arjun attended the event. In light of this, Telangana’s Cinematography Minister Komati Reddy Venkata Reddy announced that no special shows will be permitted for any movie going forward.
Special premieres for major Telugu films, such as Salaar and Baahubali 2, have become a common practice, with some movies even holding early 1 AM screenings. However, this tragic event has led to a ban on such events in Telangana from now on.
The victim, 39-year-old Revathi from Dilsukhnagar, tragically lost her life in the stampede at the theater. She had attended the premiere with her husband Bhaskar and their children, Tej (9) and Sanvi (7). Her son, Tej, is currently in critical condition. A case has been filed, and the Chikkadpally Police have registered charges under Sections 105 and 118 of the BNS Act.
