OG Telugu States Box Office: Film Ends With Losses in All Areas

Date:

Pawan Kalyan’s much-awaited action entertainer OG released with sky-high expectations and took a massive opening across the Telugu states. The film created strong initial buzz, thanks to its stylish presentation, powerful trailers, and PK’s star power. While OG went on to become the biggest grosser in Pawan Kalyan’s career, the theatrical performance in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana did not match the heavy business it did before release.

In the Nizam region, the movie opened strongly with impressive weekend numbers, but it couldn’t sustain the same pace in the following weeks. The film fell short of the breakeven mark due to the high rates quoted for distribution. A similar trend continued in the Ceded area, where despite decent collections, the final share remained below expectations.

In Andhra, several districts showed mixed performance. Uttar Andhra and Guntur reported good first-day collections but witnessed a drop later. Krishna, West Godavari, Nellore, and a few other regions also faced under-performance as the footfalls decreased after the initial buzz. Even in areas where the film had potential to recover, the breakeven figures were simply too high.

Overall, OG ended up with losses in all areas in the Telugu states. The key reason behind this is the record-breaking theatrical business done before release, which raised the recovery bar significantly. Despite these setbacks, OG remains a notable film for Pawan Kalyan, both for its scale and for becoming one of the highest-grossing titles in his career.
