Piracy is the Endgame for both theaters and OTT

Date:

Nowadays film producers are not only getting revenue from theaters but also from OTT business. But now there is a new headache for producers which is piracy.

Earlier the pirated print of the movies were coming after 2 or 3 weeks but now it comes in HD format just in 1 week. It is not only destroying the box office collection but also the revenue stream of OTT.

This topic is only discussed when the movie is released but after the movie is released, there is no discussion going on.

Recently released  movies  like Game changer and Thandel were affected by piracy.

Dilesh pothan who is an actor/director/ producer revealed that piracy has also affected the OTT business. He said that the price of OTT is coming down because of piracy. Films are losing both theatrical and non theatrical businesses.

If this happens again and again, the industry will not be able to sustain and will lose a lot of revenue because of this.

In the Telugu industry, producer Dil Raju said that all producers should unite and do something about this. He will also take help from the government. If all the film industry people unite and take proper action against piracy, there are chances that it can be stopped.

What are your thoughts on piracy ?
