With the sci-fi action drama “Kalki 2898 AD,” Prabhas delivered the biggest blockbuster of the year in Indian cinema. Expectations were sky-high before the release, given the film’s star-studded cast, including Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan. The movie surpassed all expectations by crossing the 1000 crore gross mark.
Aside from “Kalki 2898 AD,” only five other Indian movies have reached this four-digit milestone. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film completed 50 successful days in cinemas—a rare feat in today’s OTT era. Now, this mega entertainer is set to light up digital screens. According to the latest update, “Kalki 2898 AD” will be available for streaming on Prime Video starting August 22nd.
The digital platform has confirmed the release of Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions on that date. There is a commendable gap of eight weeks between the theatrical and OTT release, and production house Vyjayanthi Movies deserves praise for not rushing the movie to the digital platform sooner.
The Hindi version’s rights are with Netflix, and the platform has announced that the Hindi dubbed version will also debut on August 22nd. This mighty blockbuster is poised to break more records digitally.
