After HanuMan, director Prashanth Varma has become a full-fledged pan-India filmmaker. Many top stars are eager to collaborate with this young and talented director. At one point, he had plans to direct a film with Bollywood star Ranveer Singh, but that project didn’t materialize. Now, Prashanth Varma has narrated a new story to Prabhas, which has impressed the superstar. Currently, he is refining the script to make it even better.
Following HanuMan, the director officially announced its sequel, Jai Hanuman, and even released a poster. Rishab Shetty, who became a pan-India star with Kantara, is set to play the lead role in this sequel. Additionally, Prashanth Varma also announced a film with Balakrishna’s son, Mokshagna. However, reports suggest that both these projects have been put on hold for now.
Since Prashanth Varma has narrated a new story to Prabhas, he is likely to begin this film first. The script is reportedly ready, and the director is planning to kick-start the shoot soon. The tentative title under consideration for this film is Brahma Rakshas. If Prashanth Varma’s project with Prabhas starts first, Jai Hanuman will inevitably be postponed.
Meanwhile, Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1 is expected to release by the end of this year. After that, he is scheduled to work on Chhatrapati Shivaji, which will go on floors in 2027. Only after completing that film will he be able to take up Jai Hanuman, pushing its production further.
On the other hand, Prabhas is currently extremely busy with multiple commitments. The shooting for The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi, is reportedly nearing completion. At present, he is involved in Fauji, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. In addition, he has Spirit with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
After wrapping up these two projects, Prabhas is expected to have a brief gap in his schedule. He is now considering utilizing that time to complete a film with Prashanth Varma. Apart from this, Prabhas is also committed to Kalki 2, Salaar 2, and another project under the Hombale Films banner.
