Prabhas’ The Raja Saab Faces Release Delay: Here’s Why

Director Maruthi’s horror-comedy The Raja Saab, starring Prabhas, will not be hitting screens on April 10, 2025, as originally planned. While People Media Factory and the director have remained silent on the matter, a source from the film’s team confirmed to Hindustan Times that the release has been postponed.

Why is The Raja Saab Delayed?

While earlier speculations pointed to Prabhas’ ankle injury and his busy schedule with Hanu Raghavapudi’s film (Fauji, as rumored), the actual reason is something else entirely.

A source from the production team clarified, “Yes, it is true that The Raja Saab will not release as planned on April 10. However, it’s not due to Prabhas’ health or other commitments.”

Instead, the delay stems from the film’s extensive VFX work. Being a horror-comedy, the film requires seamless visual effects to enhance the audience’s experience. The team is prioritizing quality, and post-production is taking longer than expected.

The source added, “A new release date has not been decided yet, but there are still good slots available this year. Once significant progress is made in post-production, an official announcement will be made.”

Shooting Delays and Production Challenges

The Raja Saab has seen multiple delays since it began production in 2022. Even after the pandemic, the film took time to progress, but by December 2023, the team confirmed that 80% of the shoot was completed.

At that time, they released a statement saying:
“The Raja Saab is progressing rapidly with continuous day and night schedules. Nearly 80% of the shoot has been completed, and post-production work is in full swing.”

Despite speculations about a teaser release during Christmas or New Year, the team dismissed those rumors. Since then, updates have been scarce, leaving fans eagerly awaiting new information.

New Release Date Yet to Be Finalized

With The Raja Saab missing its summer release window, the makers are now considering alternative dates. However, they plan to make an official statement only after significant progress in post-production. For now, fans will have to wait a little longer for Prabhas’ much-anticipated horror-comedy.
