Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dragon Continues Its Box Office Domination – Inches Towards 150 Cr Landmark

Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dragon is showing no signs of slowing down at the box office. Even after 11 days, the film continues to draw impressive numbers, taking its worldwide gross to approximately 115 Cr. With strong word-of-mouth and sustained occupancy in both Tamil and Telugu markets, trade analysts predict that the film will maintain its momentum for several more weeks. Dragon is now poised to breach the coveted 150 Cr milestone, cementing its status as a major blockbuster.

Dominance in Tamil and Telugu Markets

In Tamil Nadu, Dragon enjoys a steady run, and with no major releases until the month’s end, the film is set to continue its strong performance. The next big Tamil release, Vikram’s Veera Dheera Sooran, will only arrive at the end of the month, ensuring Dragon retains a significant number of screens and collections until then. The scenario is similar in the Telugu market, where no major releases are lined up until late March, giving Dragon ample time to extend its successful run.

Industry experts anticipate the film to reach the 135 Cr mark by this weekend, making the additional 15 Cr needed to hit 150 Cr an achievable target.

Back-to-Back Blockbusters for Pradeep Ranganathan

One of the most noteworthy aspects of Dragon’s success is its remarkable performance in Tamil Nadu. The film has already entered the prestigious 60 Cr gross club in the state, making Pradeep Ranganathan one of the few filmmakers to deliver back-to-back 60 Cr+ grossers. The Tamil Nadu box office estimates indicate that Dragon could cross the 90 Cr mark in its full run, with the possibility of inching towards the 100 Cr milestone.

First Tamil Film to Hit 150 Cr in 2025

Among Kollywood releases this year, Dragon is on track to become the first film to cross 150 Cr worldwide. Interestingly, despite high expectations, Vidaamuyarchi failed to reach this benchmark, making Dragon’s achievement even more significant. The film’s Telugu version has also contributed significantly, grossing around 20 Cr in 11 days, further solidifying its pan-Indian appeal.

With Dragon maintaining strong collections and no major competitors in the immediate future, the film is set for an extraordinary full run. All eyes are now on whether it can breach the 100 Cr mark in Tamil Nadu and establish itself as one of the biggest Tamil blockbusters of the year.
