Pushpa 2 Telugu Premiere Faces Setback Due to High Ticket Prices

Date:

The Telugu version of Pushpa 2: The Rule is one of the most anticipated sequels, carrying immense expectations from fans and the industry alike. Typically, for a film of this magnitude, tickets for the entire weekend sell out within minutes of bookings opening. However, the situation seems different this time.

Despite exclusive premieres being scheduled for tonight, ticket sales have been slower than expected. Many theaters still have availability, and the overall occupancy has yet to reach even 50%.

The primary reason for this lukewarm response is the steep ticket pricing. Premiere ticket rates ranging from ₹900 to ₹1200 have drawn significant backlash from audiences, with many refusing to pay such exorbitant amounts.

In response to the low turnout, several theaters have reduced prices to ₹500-₹600 to attract viewers. In some locations, screenings have even been canceled due to poor bookings. This strategy of setting sky-high prices to maximize opening weekend collections seems to have backfired, leaving the producers in a tough spot.

If the film garners positive word of mouth, it could still recover and perform well over time, drawing audiences back to theaters. However, if reviews are mixed or negative, the high ticket prices may severely impact its overall box office performance, creating a significant dent in collections.
