After several years, Dhanush has returned to directing with the action drama “Raayan,” marking his 50th film as an artist. The National Award-winning actor’s latest venture has been declared a massive blockbuster by trade experts, surpassing the 100 crore gross mark at the global box office.
To date, “Raayan” has amassed 65 crores gross in Tamil Nadu alone and is on track to become the highest-grossing film of 2024 in the region. Currently, “Aranmanai 4” holds the record for the highest-grossing movie in Tamil Nadu for this year, but “Raayan” is expected to surpass its collections by tomorrow.
“Raayan” is poised to become Dhanush’s biggest grosser in Tamil Nadu, overtaking “Thiruchitrambalam.” Despite receiving an A certificate, the film is dominating the box office. It saw a significant increase in collections during the second weekend and is anticipated to maintain its strong performance in the coming days.
The film features an ensemble cast including SJ Suryah, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, Selvaraghavan, Prakash Raj, Dushara Vijayan, Aparna Balamurali, and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. Produced by Kalanithi Maran of Sun Pictures, the movie boasts a soundtrack composed by AR Rahman.
