After making a strong impression with the blockbuster Sivarapalli, Rag Mayur is on a roll with multiple exciting projects lined up. His recent special appearance in Subham—produced by Samantha Ruth Prabhu and directed by Praveen Kandregula—is already creating waves. Rag plays the quirky and entertaining character Maridesh Babu, which has received wide appreciation from audiences.
“I’m truly grateful to Samantha garu and Praveen garu for trusting me with this role,” says Rag. “Maridesh Babu felt like an evolved version of what I portrayed in Cinema Bandi. The humor and charm in the character were irresistible. I’m thrilled with the audience’s response and even more delighted that Subham turned out to be such a big hit.”
Next up, Rag Mayur will be seen in Paradha, Praveen Kandregula’s third directorial outing, where he is cast opposite Anupama Parameswaran. “This time it’s a full-fledged role,” he shares. “My character is seamlessly woven into the story, and the film is a socially relevant drama that promises to leave a lasting impact.”
Rag is also shooting for a light-hearted buddy comedy under the GA2 Pictures banner, adding more variety to his expanding filmography. Another ambitious project in the pipeline is Garividi Lakshmi, produced by People Media Factory. The film is a biopic inspired by the legendary Burra Katha artist Garividi Lakshmi from North Andhra Pradesh, and it’s progressing at a brisk pace.
“What excites me most is the diversity of roles I’m getting,” says Rag. “Each character challenges me differently and allows me to showcase different shades of my performance. Collaborating with some of the best production houses and technicians has broadened my perspective as an actor. These behind-the-scenes conversations are helping me grow and evolve creatively.”
With multiple films across genres and a steady rise in popularity, Rag Mayur is clearly an actor to watch out for.
