Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest film Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel of Jai Bhim fame, hit theaters yesterday. The film, based on the lives of encounter specialists, opened to strong box office numbers globally, despite not being a typical Rajinikanth venture.
As per the latest reports, Vettaiyan collected a share of Rs. 1 crore in the Nizam region on its opening day. Given the film’s serious theme and mixed reviews, this is considered a respectable start. With the Dussehra festive season underway, the film is expected to maintain its momentum over the weekend.
Distributed by Asian Suresh Entertainment in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Vettaiyan features a star-studded cast, including Amitabh Bachchan, Rana Daggubati, Fahadh Faasil, Manju Warrier, Rithika Singh, and Dusara Vijayan. The film is produced by Subaskaran under the banner of Lyca Productions, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
