Samantha’s ‘Subham’ Shifts OTT Platform After Zee Telugu Deal Falls Through

Date:

Samantha co-produced Subham, a unique social satire blended with ghost comedy, featuring mostly new talent in lead roles alongside her cameo appearance. After its recent theatrical release, the film received mixed reviews.

As a leading actress and pan-Indian star, Samantha wields considerable influence in the industry. Leveraging this, she initially secured a lucrative bouquet deal for both OTT and satellite rights with the Zee Telugu network even before the film hit theaters.

However, following the release, Zee reportedly requested a price reduction for the rights. Frustrated by this demand, Samantha is said to have cancelled the agreement and has since entered fresh negotiations with Jio Hotstar.

Regardless of the changes, Samantha successfully managed to secure new digital deals without much difficulty, showcasing her strong market presence.
