With Sankranti just a week away, the Telugu film industry is witnessing an unusual scenario, as none of the major festive releases have managed to generate strong buzz so far. Traditionally known for high-energy promotions and massive pre-release hype, this year’s Sankranti lineup appears relatively subdued.
The Raja Saab, starring Prabhas, opened to mixed responses. While the film’s songs failed to leave a strong impression and promotional activities remained limited, the second trailer brought some improvement in expectations. However, despite Prabhas’ star power, the film is not yet dominating audience discussions, raising concerns over the lack of aggressive promotions.
Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu initially created excitement with the popularity of the songs “Missala Pilla” and “Sasirekha.” The buzz, however, gradually declined after the release of the trailer, which received an average response and did not significantly boost anticipation.
Ravi Teja’s Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi and Sharwanand’s Nari Nari Naduma Murari are also yet to make an impact. Despite ongoing promotional campaigns, both films are struggling to connect with the audience or create festival-level excitement.
On the promotional front, Anaganaga Oka Raju stands out, with Naveen Polishetty actively engaging audiences through innovative and viral promotional content. While his efforts are gaining attention on social media, the film’s songs have not resonated strongly enough to translate into widespread hype.
Currently, trailers have been released only for The Raja Saab and Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu, while trailers for the remaining films are expected in the coming days. With limited time left before the festival, it remains to be seen whether last-minute promotions and trailer launches can revive interest and deliver the customary Sankranti box-office momentum.
