Shraddha Das has carved a niche for herself in South Indian cinema, appearing in nearly 40 films throughout her career. She has been a part of notable films like Great Grand Masti, Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji, Arya 2, Sanam Teri Kasam, and Lahore. Though she has worked in multiple languages, she has predominantly acted in Telugu films. Born in Mumbai and raised in a Bengali family, Shraddha pursued a degree in journalism from Mumbai University before stepping into the film industry. She made her acting debut with the Telugu film Siddu From Srikakulam and later entered Bollywood with Lahore.
A few years ago, Shraddha Das found herself at the center of controversy following a statement related to Sonu Nigam. The singer had sparked debate with his controversial tweet about Azaan, which led to widespread criticism. In response to this, Shraddha posted, “I barely hear the Azaan from my home. It has never been a problem for me. Interestingly, I live quite close to Sonu Nigam’s house, yet I have never heard the sound of Azaan from my place.”
Her post immediately gained attention and sparked heated debates. However, she soon deleted it from her social media account. Despite her attempt to retract the statement, the post had already stirred significant controversy, making her a widely discussed figure overnight.
