Mumbai, March 6 (IANS) – Actress Shruti Haasan recently shared a glimpse into her daily life, revealing that she is “not a morning person.” Taking to Instagram Stories, Shruti posted a selfie from the backseat of a car, showcasing a natural look with damp hair and minimal makeup. She captioned the image: “Not a morning person. Story of my life.”
On the professional front, Shruti’s British psychological thriller The Eye premiered in India as the opening feature at the 5th Wench Film Festival. Set against Greece’s stunning landscapes, the film follows Diana (played by Shruti) as she embarks on an emotional journey to scatter her late husband’s ashes on a remote island. However, what begins as closure soon entangles her in the eerie Evil Eye ritual, blending themes of grief, fate, and the supernatural.
Directed by Daphne Schmon and produced by Fingerprint Content, The Eye marks Shruti’s much-anticipated international debut. The film was scripted by award-winning writer Emily Carlton and features a stellar cast, including Last Kingdom star Mark Rowley, Anna Savva, and Linda Marlowe. It delivers a gripping cinematic experience, reaffirming Shruti’s versatility in emotionally intense roles.
Sharing her thoughts on the project, Shruti previously said that from the moment she read the script, she felt a deep connection. “I’ve always been drawn to stories that explore love, darkness, and self-discovery. ‘The Eye’ allowed me to confront those emotions on screen. Working with an incredibly talented all-female creative team made it even more special,” she added. The Wench Film Festival, founded by Sapna Bhavnani, is India’s pioneering platform dedicated to horror, sci-fi, and fantasy cinema.
