Playback singer Kalpana Raghavendar has been hospitalized following a suspected suicide attempt. As per reports from Eenadu, she was found unconscious in her Hyderabad residence after being unresponsive for two days.
Concerns arose when the security staff of her housing complex noticed that her home remained locked. After multiple failed attempts to reach her, the resident’s association alerted her husband, who was in Chennai at the time. Upon receiving no response from him either, they contacted the police, who forcibly entered her residence and discovered her unconscious. She was immediately rushed to a private hospital and is currently on ventilator support.
Kalpana’s husband has returned from Chennai, and several members of the music industry, including singer Sunitha, have visited her. However, they have refrained from speaking to the media about her condition.
Daughter of legendary singer TS Raghavendra, Kalpana has been a renowned playback singer since childhood. She gained widespread recognition after winning Star Singer (2010) and has collaborated with industry stalwarts like MS Viswanathan, Ilaiyaraaja, A. Rahman, KV Mahadevan, SP Balasubrahmanyam, and KS Chithra. Apart from her playback career, she has judged multiple reality shows and participated in Bigg Boss Telugu Season 1, hosted by Jr NTR.
