Two weeks ago, on December 4, Sobhita Dhulipala and Naga Chaitanya exchanged vows in a private ceremony at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. For over a year, rumors swirled around the couple, but it wasn’t until August 2024 that they officially confirmed their relationship, with Chaitanya’s father, Nagarjuna, announcing their engagement on social media.
Unlike many other actor couples, Sobhita and Chaitanya never starred together in a film. So, how did they fall in love? Their love story began a year after Chaitanya’s divorce from actress Samantha. In 2022, Sobhita followed Chaitanya back on Instagram, and their first conversation revolved around a new sushi dish at his Hyderabad restaurant. According to a chat with The New York Times, they revealed that their love language is Telugu, which made their connection feel even more special for Chaitanya, bringing him closer to Sobhita and helping him feel at home.
Their bond grew stronger after their first conversation, and soon after, Chaitanya flew to Mumbai for a lunch date with Sobhita at Pali Village Café. Sobhita recalled the moment fondly, saying, “That was the charming part. It was so old school in a way.”
Chaitanya, who isn’t a fan of texting or social media communication, shared, “I’m not a fan of texting. I’m not a fan of communicating on social media.” A week later, they met again at an event for their respective series, and at that moment, they both knew it was meant to be. Sobhita fondly remembered, “I was in a red dress, he was in a blue suit. And the rest is history.”
In August 2024, Chaitanya proposed to Sobhita during a romantic trip to Goa, and the couple sealed their love story with marriage just a few months later.
