In a recent interview with Galatta, actress Sobhita Dhulipala opened up about her engagement to Naga Chaitanya, her upcoming wedding, motherhood, and her deep connection to Telugu traditions. She candidly shared her thoughts on these life events and how she envisions her future.
“The Engagement Was What It’s Meant to Be”
Sobhita reflected on her engagement, which took place on August 9 in Hyderabad. While she hesitated to call it “simple,” she explained why she didn’t feel the need for any extravagance. “I didn’t go into the moment with many expectations or plans. It was relaxed, intimate, and warm, exactly as I wanted it to be,” she shared. For her, the moment itself was beautiful enough without any embellishments.
“I Always Wanted the Motherhood Experience”
Sobhita also expressed her lifelong desire to experience marriage and motherhood, emphasizing the importance of her Telugu heritage. “I always saw myself getting married and having children. I’m deeply attached to my roots and traditions. I wanted that sense of Telugu-ness in these special moments, staying true to my culture and family,” she said.
Wedding Plans and Telugu Traditions
Sobhita and Naga Chaitanya, who got engaged in an intimate ceremony attended by their parents, have yet to announce their wedding date. In the interview, she hinted at following Telugu bridal traditions for her wedding attire. She shared that she plans to wear the traditional lagnam saree, which includes a silk saree and another in white with a red border. For her engagement, Sobhita opted for a half saree designed by Manish Malhotra.
