Telangana HC Implements Strict Cinema Guidelines for Children

Date:

The Telangana High Court has issued a directive barring children under the age of 16 from watching movies in theaters or multiplexes before 11 AM and after 11 PM. The court recommended that the state government issue clear instructions to all relevant parties to regulate the entry of minors during these hours.

This decision follows a hearing held on Monday regarding petitions about rising movie ticket prices and the permission granted for special shows. During the session, the petitioner’s advocate raised concerns about the negative effects of late-night movie screenings on children’s health. The court acknowledged that late-night movie outings could negatively impact children’s physical and emotional well-being. This ruling may affect the scheduling of special shows and late-night screenings in multiplexes across the state. The next hearing on the matter will be held on February 22nd.
