Naga Chaitanya’s latest film, Thandel, has taken the box office by storm, setting new career milestones for the actor. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, the film has delivered an exceptional opening weekend, securing the highest-grossing first weekend for any Akkineni hero.
With a phenomenal start, Thandel amassed a staggering ₹31.06 crore worldwide share within just three days. In the Telugu states alone, the film collected ₹24.56 crore, with Nizam contributing a massive ₹10.65 crore. Ceeded followed with ₹3.3 crore, while Andhra Pradesh territories also recorded impressive figures—₹3.4 crore from UA, ₹1.86 crore from East, ₹1.42 crore from West, ₹1.55 crore from Guntur, ₹1.48 crore from Krishna, and ₹0.9 crore from Nellore.
Beyond Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Thandel also performed well in other regions, earning ₹2.75 crore across the rest of India and ₹3.75 crore from overseas markets.
With worldwide theatrical rights valued at ₹40 crore, the film has already recovered 77% of its investment. Now, Thandel requires just ₹10 crore more to achieve hit status—a feat that seems well within reach given its strong hold at the box office. If it continues this momentum, it could become Naga Chaitanya’s first-ever film to cross the ₹50 crore share mark.
This milestone not only cements Naga Chaitanya’s standing in Telugu cinema but also underscores the rising demand for content-driven films. As Thandel continues its successful run, fans and trade analysts eagerly watch to see how far it will go in the days ahead.
