British actor Tom Holland has expressed his excitement for the next Spider-Man movie installment, sharing updates on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Holland confirmed that filming for the upcoming Marvel movie is scheduled to begin next summer. “It’s happening. Next summer, we start shooting, everything’s good to go. We’re nearly there. Super exciting. Yeah, I can’t wait,” he told Fallon.
The next Spider-Man film will follow No Way Home, the 2021 blockbuster that saw Holland team up with previous Spider-Man actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have yet to release an official statement regarding the new film.
In addition to his role as Spider-Man, Holland is reportedly set to star in acclaimed director Christopher Nolan’s upcoming project, which is speculated to be a period vampire film also featuring Matt Damon.
Previously, Holland shared that he and Zendaya, his Spider-Man co-star, had read through the Marvel script together. “Zendaya and I sat down and read it together, and we were literally bouncing around the living room. This is a real movie worthy of the fans’ respect, but there are a few things we need to figure out before we can really get it going,” Holland remarked. He added, “Things are looking great, but there’s still a lot of moving pieces.”
