Sandalwood superstar Yash has officially joined the sets of the highly anticipated two-part mythological epic, Ramayana. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the magnum opus will see Yash portraying the mighty demon king Ravana. Not just an actor in the film, Yash is also co-producing the project alongside Namit Malhotra.
In a recent interview with a national media house, Yash revealed why he was drawn to playing Ravana. The KGF star explained, “It’s an incredibly fascinating character. I wouldn’t have taken up any other role in Ramayana. For me, Ravana offers the most depth as an actor. His shades and complexities make him intriguing, and there’s immense scope to bring a fresh perspective to the character.”
The grand cinematic adaptation also stars Bollywood sensation Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and South Indian actress Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita. With a massive budget of ₹800 crore, Ramayana promises to be a visual spectacle. Adding to the excitement, legendary composers AR Rahman and Hollywood’s Hans Zimmer are collaborating on the film’s soundtrack.
The first installment of Ramayana is slated for a grand theatrical release on November 6, 2026, coinciding with Diwali. With an unparalleled production scale and an ensemble cast, this magnum opus is set to redefine Indian cinema on a global stage.
