Melon Slush


  • 2 medium melons, peeled, cut into large cubes, and chilled
  • ½ cup orange squash
  • Ice cubes as needed


  1. Blend the melon pieces in a blender until smooth.
  2. Add the orange squash and blend again.
  3. Add ice cubes and blend until everything is well mixed.
  4. Serve chilled in juice glasses.

Jamun Syrup


  • 1 ½ cups Jawa plums (jamun), deseeded
  • 2 cups water
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 lemon, halved
  • Salt to taste


  1. Heat a pan and add the jamuns and water. Let it simmer.
  2. Gently mash the jamuns in the pan.
  3. Add sugar and continue to simmer.
  4. Turn off the heat and add the juice of half a lemon, stirring continuously.
  5. Let the mixture cool, then blend until smooth.
  6. Strain the mixture through a fine strainer and store it in an airtight container.
  7. To make the jamun fizz, add two tablespoons of jamun syrup to a glass, sprinkle with black salt, and top with chilled soda. Garnish with mint leaves and serve chilled.
