The buzz around Akhanda 2 is heating up, especially when it comes to its business in the Nizam region. Historically, Nizam has been a weaker market for veteran actor Balakrishna compared to others, but things seem to be changing.
Nizam Deal Surprises
Insiders report that the Nizam rights for Akhanda 2 are being discussed at ₹36 crore—a surprisingly high figure. The proposed deal reportedly is split as ₹30 crore non-refundable plus ₹6 crore recoverable. Across Andhra, the film’s pre-release business is pegged at ₹50 crore.
This is a big leap compared to Balakrishna’s past performances in Nizam. To put things in perspective, the first Akhanda film scored ₹20.5 crore share in Nizam—Balakrishna’s strongest ever in that territory.
The Bigger Picture: Hit Target
While Balakrishna has never had a film that delivered a 100 crore share from the Telugu states, Akhanda 2 is being positioned with that goal in mind. For it to achieve “hit status,” it needs to cross that benchmark in Telugu states alone.
With the strong pre-release numbers in Nizam and Andhra, and with heightened expectations from fans and industry watchers, Akhanda 2 is stepping into its release window with heavy ambitions.
